tesla ping pong effect 12.6.X HW3 I’ve seen mention of this problem where the steering wheel wobbles right and left about once every second. Sometimes the car acts like it’s going off the road. It’s made FSD completely unusable to me, since this version. And it seems like Musk is no longer updating FSD for hardware 3. I’ve tried resetting the cameras, but nothing helps. Has anyone found a solution to this extremely unnerving issue?

Replacing only 1–3 tires on a Tesla can cause mismatched wheel speeds, leading the Tesla Full Self-Driving (FSD) system to misinterpret this as drift and over-correct once per second, known as the ping pong effect. For a solution, replacing all four tires simultaneously is recommended. Since all four replacement tires were matching in brand and model, this particular issue may not stem from mismatched tire brands, which can also cause lateral wobbles with Tesla's Autopilot. Ensuring the tires are EV-rated addresses another potential issue. If the problem persists, it could be worth checking mechanical components like front control arm bushings and tie rod ends, as these can affect alignment if worn, particularly if worn bushings prevent proper toe alignment despite tire replacement.

Have you changed any tires on this Tesla since the ping pong effect started?
